LeBlanc's 71 Leads Lehigh On Day Two At Torrey Pines

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Lehigh men's golf team shaved six strokes off its opening round score on day two of the UC San Diego Invitational Monday at Torrey Pines. After shooting 311 in Sunday's opening round the Mountain Hawks shot 305 Tuesday and sit in a tie for 11th place out of 20 teams at 616.
 
Junior Aiden LeBlanc led Lehigh Monday shooting one under par 71, matching the number posted by classmate Jake Roth in Monday's opening round. LeBlanc made four birdies and moved into a tie for 23rd place at 151 (80-71).
 
Roth followed his 71 with a 79 Monday and is now tied for 15th place at 150.
 
Senior Jahan Bains carded 14 pars and four bogeys Monday, shooting 76. Bains is tied for 57th place at 156 (80-76).
 
Sophomore Charles Schrohe made two birdies in his second-round 79 and is tied for 81st place at 159 (80-79).
 
Junior Paulius Malcius is tied for 105th place at 165 (82-83). Malcius made one birdie in his second round.
 
Sacramento State holds the 36-hole team lead at 593 (303-290). The Hornets lead second place Arkansas State by five strokes.
 
Thomas Schmidt of Arkansas State has opened up a five stroke lead at five under par 139 (71-68). Kevin Li of Seattle University is in second place.
 
The UC San Diego Invitational concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes, beginning with a 7 a.m. PT shotgun start.
