Lehigh Opens Spring Season With 36 Holes At Babs Steffens Invitational

DeBARY, Fla. – Playing its first two rounds of the spring season, the Lehigh women's golf team carded scores of 322 and 323 Monday at Stetson's Babs Steffens Invitational at DeBary Golf and Country Club. The Mountain Hawks' score of 645 has them in 11th place out of 15 teams entering Tuesday's final round.

Junior Yuki Zhu led the way for the Mountain Hawks as she sits in a tie for 25th place at 155 (75-80). Zhu's opening round 75 was the low round of the day for Lehigh. She carded 13 pars with one birdie in round one and made two more birdies in the afternoon.

Senior Madison Pineda is next in a tie for 44th at 160 (81-79). Pineda and first-year Alana Hall both shot 79 in round two to pace Lehigh in the afternoon. She parred 26 of her 36 holes on Monday.

Hall is tied for 49th place at 164 (85-79). She carded one birdie in her opening round.

First-year Reese Hannon rebounded from a morning 95 to shoot 85 in the afternoon and is tied for 78th place. Hannon made one birdie in her afternoon round.

Sophomore Stefania Fedun shot 81 in the first round Monday but withdrew from the tournament in the afternoon.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Bella Scanapicco sits in 76th place at 178 (84-94).

Host Stetson leads the team race by 21 strokes. The Hatters sit at five over par 581 (296-285), with Jacksonville in second place followed by Seton Hall.

Three players are tied for the individual lead at even par 144: Jillian Fatkin from Queens University and the Stetson tandem of Filippa Jansson and Julieta Oviedo.
