PHILADELPHIA - Lehigh's men's swimming and diving team traveled to compete against Drexel on Saturday morning. The Mountain Hawks fell to the Dragons 175-67.
Jack Deppe was Lehigh's sole event winner in the competition. The sophomore broke the three-minute mark and swam 2:58.98 to win the 300-yard individual medley. The Mountain Hawks also came second in that event, as first-year Andrew Takach finished right behind in 3:02.52. Deppe also has another top individual medley finish at the 100-yard distance. He swam 52.03, which was good for second.
Sophomore Frankie Prekop was Lehigh's top swimmer in both of his individual events. He placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming 21.69. Prekop bettered his position over 100-yards, where his 46.60 freestyle swim earned him second place.
Lehigh earned podium finishes in four other individual events. Sophomore Will Pestrichelli earned third in the 400-yard freestyle, where he swam 3:41.41. At the 150-yard freestyle distance, first-year Braeden Roach swam 1:14.35, which placed him third. Senior Ben Kisker also earned third in the 50-yard backstroke, he swam 23.93. Finally, sophomore Jared Rabadam swam 27.22 in the 50-yard breaststroke to place third.
The Mountain Hawks also reached the podium in two relay events. The team of Rabadam, Roach, Tristan Ronayne, and Spencer Campbell placed third in the 200-yard individual medley, swimming 1:35.87. This meet also had a mixed 200-yard freestyle relay. Senior Aaron Williams and sophomore Davis Woerner were joined by Mairin Ludwig and Clara Moschella, and they placed third (1:31.74).
Graduate Student Jack Grotke placed fourth in both diving events at the meet. He scored 149.60 at the one-meter height, and 131.65 at three-meters.
The Mountain Hawks look to bounce back after a month off. They will face Marist on January 10 at home.
