BETHLEHEM, Pa. – As Lehigh prepares for Saturday's second round playoff clash with Villanova at Goodman Stadium, head coach Kevin Cahill announced the addition of 16 student-athletes to the Mountain Hawks' football program as the early signing period opened Wednesday.
The first members of Lehigh's class of 2030 cover nearly every position group. The class includes five offensive players, eight defensive players, two specialists and an athlete.
"We are excited to add more high-quality players to The Nest," Cahill said. "Our staff did a tremendous job focusing on the things we needed to in order to make Lehigh football better. While this group is very talented on the field, we are excited for the character they bring to Lehigh. Our work is not done. We will continue to build this class with the best fits for Lehigh football."
Six members of the initial signing group are Pennsylvania natives. The class also includes three student-athletes from Massachusetts, two from Connecticut and stretches west to Illinois and Washington.
No. 5 Lehigh (12-0) will host No. 12 Villanova Saturday in an FCS second round game at Goodman Stadium with game time set for noon. Tickets can be purchased online at LehighTickets.com.
