Lehigh Completes First 18 Holes At Fall-Opening Alex Lagowitz Memorial

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Saturday morning rains have shortened the fall-opening Alex Lagowitz Memorial to a 36-hole event. The Lehigh men's golf team shot 302 in Saturday's opening round at Seven Oaks Golf Club, with the Mountain Hawks sitting in 11th place out of 15 teams in the field.

Junior Jake Roth led Lehigh Saturday, carding a two over par 74 to sit in 20th place. Roth carded 16 pars and two bogeys in his first fall round. One stroke behind was classmate Paulius Malcius, who is tied for 36th place. Malcius made a trio of birdies in Saturday's round.

Senior Jahan Bains is tied for 56th place after shooting 76, with junior Will Caronchi shooting 77 to sit in a tie for 63rd place. Bains carded one birdie in his opening round, with Caronchi making a team-leading four.

The two Lehigh first-years made their collegiate debuts, with Noah Zyung shooting 79 and Luke Block carding an 83. Zyung made two birdies, while Block made one.

Navy and Yale are tied for the team lead at one over par 289, with Seton Hall and host Colgate tied for third place two strokes off the lead.

Colgate's Robbie Herzig and Villanova's Ryan Pamer are tied for the individual lead at five under par 67. They hold a one stroke lead over two players.
