Roth's Top 10 Paces Lehigh At Alex Lagowitz Memorial

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Led by a top 10 finish by junior Jake Roth, the Lehigh men's golf team opened its fall season by tying for 11th place at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, which wrapped up Sunday at Seven Oaks Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks shot 298 in Sunday's final round to finish the weather-shortened 36-hole event at 600 (302-298). Lehigh finished tied for 11th with Le Moyne.

Roth delivered the low round of the weekend, a two under par 70, to move into a tie for ninth place at even par 144 (74-70). Roth made three birdies and an eagle on the par 4 15th hole.

Lehigh's next highest finisher was junior Will Caronchi, who tied for 48th place at 151 (77-74). He carded three birdies on his back nine.

First-year Noah Zyung moved all the way up to a tie for 66th with a final round 75 to finish at 154 (79-75). Â Zyung also made three birdies in his final round.

Senior Jahan Bains tied for 75th place at 155 (76-79), while junior Paulius Malcius was one stroke back at 156 (75-81) to tie for 78th.

Rounding out the Lehigh entry was first-year Luke Block, who finished 95th at 168 (83-85).

Navy and Seton Hall shared the team title at 573, with Yale claiming third place six shots behind.

The individual medalist was Villanova's Ryan Pamer at six under par 138 (67-71).

Next up for the Mountain Hawks will be The Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's on Bethpage Red, Sept. 16-17.
