Six Mountain Hawks Selected To All-Patriot League Teams

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Six members of the Lehigh softball team were named to All-Patriot League teams as the league announced its postseason softball awards Tuesday afternoon. Graduate student Emily Cimino earned her third career All-Patriot League honor with her second straight first-team nod, while five others earned spots on the second team: graduate student Josie Charles, senior Katelyn Young, junior Rory Dudley and first-years Holly Lovett and Peyton Sward.

The All-Patriot League teams and major awards are voted on by the league's head coaches.
Cimino lands on the first team as an outfielder for the second consecutive season. She batted .329 in 48 games this season and leads or is tied for the team lead with 14 doubles, four home runs and 36 runs batted in. Cimino was Lehigh's top offensive performer during Patriot League play, batting .351 with 21 RBIs. She enters the Patriot League Tournament with 162 career RBIs, three behind the Lehigh and Patriot League career record shared by Liz Lucas '13 and Kim Miller '96.
After earning first team honors in 2023, Charles landed on the second team this season. Charles hit .297 with 44 hits this season. She tied for the team lead with 33 runs scored and had a team-best six triples and 12 stolen bases while driving in 22. An outfielder, Charles led Lehigh with 16 runs scored during Patriot League games.
The leader of Lehigh's pitching staff, Young earns second team laurels for the second consecutive season. Over 166.1 innings, Young owns a 16-10 record and 2.78 ERA. She was particularly tough in Patriot League play going 9-3 with a 1.49 ERA, winning her first eight league decisions. Young threw four complete game shutouts, in four consecutive weekends capped by a no-hitter Apr. 20 versus Lafayette.
Dudley earns her first career all-league honor at first base following a strong season where she hit .331 with 26 runs batted in. The 26 RBIs rank second on the team behind Cimino, with Dudley's four home runs tying Cimino for the team lead. In league play, Dudley batted .333 with 11 runs scored and seven RBIs.
Sward has started all 48 games for Lehigh at shortstop and leads the Mountain Hawks with a .378 batting average. She ranks among team leaders in runs (32), hits (45), triples (three) and stolen bases (11, in 11 attempts). A two-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Sward batted .302 with 11 runs scored in Patriot League play.
Lovett became a fixture at third base and a key run producer for the Mountain Hawks. A three-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Lovett hit .324 with seven doubles, three homers and 24 RBIs. During the Patriot League season, Lovett ranked second on the team with 11 RBIs in 18 games, while hitting .327 with 17 hits.
Regular season champion Boston University won four of the five major awards with Colgate claiming the other.
Lehigh (30-18, 14-4 PL) will be the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and will open tournament play against No. 3 Bucknell, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at BU Softball Field in Boston. Top seed Boston University will host No. 4 Army West Point in the tournament's first game at noon. Friday's second day of tournament play will feature games at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., with the championship round set for Saturday at noon. All Patriot League Tournament action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
