
Stewart And McCartney Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Academic All-District Volleyball teams on Tuesday. Senior Emily Stewart and junior Madison McCartney were recognized by CSC for their impressive academic and athletic accolades this past season.
In addition to being named to the Academic All-District Team, Stewart is also a finalist for CSC's Academic All-America honors, which will be released on January 14. The industrial and systems engineering major from Fort Myers, Florida has recorded a 3.54 cumulative GPA throughout her academic career. Stewart's academic accomplishments include an Academic All-Patriot League nod this season, two selections to the Patriot League Honor Roll, five Faculty Athletics Council Awards and two selections to the Dean's List.
On the court, Stewart was one of the best middle blockers in the Patriot League, leading the league in total blocks with 133. She also ranks second in the Patriot League with 24 solo blocks and first with 109 block assists. Stewart was also a focal point offensively for the Mountain Hawks this season, tallying 223 kills on a .324 hitting percentage, which ranks as the second highest in the league.
After earning a second career selection to the Academic All-Patriot League in 2024, McCartney now earns the nod from CSC. The behavioral neuroscience major has posted a 3.92 cumulative GPA during her time in Bethlehem and has earned a plethora of academic achievements. McCartney is a two-time Patriot League Honor Roll recipient, four-time Faculty Athletics Council Award winner and a four-time Dean's List selection.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, McCartney was been one of the top defenders and servers in the Patriot League. She ranks sixth in the league in total blocks with 115, fifth in the league in solo blocks with 19, fourth in the league in block assists with 94 and first in the league at 1.28 blocks per set. She also ranks fifth in the league in service aces with 35 and second in the league with 0.39 aces per set.
