
Mountain Hawks Fifth In A Tight Pack At Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – An opening round 303 has the Lehigh men's golf team in fifth place out of nine teams after round one of the Lehigh Invitational Saturday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. Juniors Aiden LeBlanc and Will Caronchi led the way with rounds of three over par 75 as Lehigh is just four strokes behind first-place Siena entering Sunday's final round.

LeBlanc's opening round featured three birdies and an eagle on the par-4 13th hole, while Caronchi carded a pair of birdies in his round. The Lehigh duo is tied for eighth place.

Sophomore Charles Schrohe shot 76 and is tied for 13th place. Schrohe made two birdies Saturday.

Junior Jake Roth made three birdies in an opening round 77 and is tied for 17th and junior Paulius Malcius shot 81 and is tied for 33rd.

Lehigh's four-player B team shot 312 and is in seventh place. Senior Jahan Bains and junior Matthew Quinn both shot 77 with one birdie and are part of the group tied for 17th place.

First-years Luke Block and Noah Zyung both shot 79 and are tied for 26th place.

Just four strokes separate the top five teams: Siena, William & Mary, Lafayette, Fairfield and Lehigh.

Binghamton's Brandon Conner shot five under par 67 to take the individual lead by three strokes over Preston Burton of William & Mary.

The Lehigh Invitational concludes Sunday with the final round beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Mountain Hawks will play with Fairfield and the individuals beginning at 10:20 a.m.
