Lehigh Football Season Opener At Army Set For Friday August 30

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh football's 2024 season-opener at Army West Point will be played on Friday, Aug. 30 with game time set for 6 p.m. from Michie Stadium at West Point, N.Y. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.

The meeting will be the first between Lehigh and Army since 1995. The Black Knights lead the series 8-2-1. Army won the most recent meeting 42-9 in 1995 and prior to that Lehigh defeated the Black Knights 13-12 in 1983. The teams played to a 24-24 tie in 1980.

The game will be Lehigh's first against an FBS opponent since the Mountain Hawks visited Navy in 2018.

Lehigh will play its season opener on a Friday night for the second time in three seasons and the third time overall. The Mountain Hawks opened the 2022 campaign at Villanova and began the 2015 season at Central Connecticut State.

The Mountain Hawks' complete 2024 schedule, which will include six home games at Goodman Stadium including the 160th meeting of Lehigh-Lafayette, will be announced in the coming days along with ticket information and timelines for the upcoming season.
