Lehigh Finishes Fifth In Fall-Opening Alex Lagowitz Memorial

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Playing in its first tournament of the fall season, the Lehigh men's golf team finished in fifth place out of 12 teams at Colgate's Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at Seven Oaks Golf Club. A final round 300 gave the Mountain Hawks a final total of 880 (294-286-300).
Senior Edmund Broderick was Lehigh's top finisher, claiming fourth place at four under par 212 (69-69-74). Sophomore Aiden LeBlanc matched Broderick with a Sunday 74 to finish in a tie for 19th place at 222 (76-72-74). Also part of the tie for 19th place was junior Aidan Oehrle, who posted scores of 75, 71 and 76.
Junior Jahan Bains tied for 55th place at 231 (74-78-79), while fifth-year Sam Barton finished with his best round of the weekend, carding a 76 to tie for 70th place at 238 (78-84-76).
Sophomore Jake Roth carded rounds of 74 and 76 in his final two rounds after taking a disqualification in round one.
Yale claimed the team title with a final total of 11 under par 853. The Bulldogs defeated second place Villanova by 17 strokes.
The top individual finishers were both from Yale: Blake Brantley and Will Lodge, who finished at six under par 210.
The Mountain Hawks are back in action next weekend at The Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
