Mountain Hawks Make the Trip to Hamilton for Midweek Matchup with First-Place Colgate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's basketball team travels to Colgate for a battle of the top two teams in the Patriot League at Cotterell Court on Wednesday evening. Game time is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+ and Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
Lehigh (14-9, 9-3 PL) enters the game coming off a 66-64 win over rival Lafayette that saw senior Evan Taylor record his third double-double of the season while leading the Mountain Hawks with 20 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 8-of-15 from the floor and making four of his five three-pointers. He also had one assist and a steal. Sophomore Keith Higgins Jr. posted 14 points to go with a team-high six assists, one steal and a rebound while junior Dominic Parolin recorded 12 points, six boards, two of them being offensive rebounds, two assists and a steal. Sophomore Tyler Whitney-Sidney earned four of his nine points at the foul line, brought down five boards, dished out four assists and swiped a pair of steals.

Higgins Jr., Taylor and Whitney-Sidney are averaging 13-plus points for the Mountain Hawks. Higgins Jr. averages 14.7 points per game and 2.0 assists per contest to go with a team-leading 50 three-pointers. Taylor recently reached 1,000 career points and is contributing 14.7 points with 6.6 rebounds per contest after his third double-double while Whitney-Sidney is scoring 13.0 points per outing, and a team-leading 35 steals and 2.1 assists per game, along with 4.6 rebounds.
Colgate (17-8, 11-1 PL) saw its 26-game conference win streak end with a loss at American, 61-60, on Saturday afternoon, the team's first loss since Dec. 22 at Cornell. The Raiders enter the game with an 8-2 record at home this season but has not lost to a Patriot League school on Cotterell Court since January 2020. Colgate and the Mountain Hawks have both defeated Monmouth and fallen to Cornell in common opponents.

Tucker Richardson leads the squad in multiple categories with 14.3 points, 5.2 assists, and 54 steals. Three other Raiders are averaging double-digits, with Braedan Smith adding 12 points a game, Keegan Records and Oliver Lynch-Daniels both scoring 11.7 points. Records is bringing down 5.8 boards per game while both Richardson, Lynch-Daniels and Ryan Moffatt have all made over 100 three-pointers this season.
Colgate leads the overall series with a record of 60-42 and 8-2 in the program's last 10 meetings. Lehigh snapped a five-game losing skid when they defeated the Raiders 85-81 last January, but then fell to Colgate in the league semifinals on March 6, 2022. In this season's first meeting, the Raiders claimed a 76-60 victory on Jan. 2 for their third straight win over the Mountain Hawks.
Lehigh returns to Stabler Arena to host Loyola (Md.) for Senior Night and 3's for a Cure presented by Red Robin in partnership with LLS. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
