BETHLEHEM, Pa. – First-year Alysia Fingall was named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. She is the second Mountain Hawk to win the award this season, joining teammate Ufuoma Omene who earned the distinction on September 5.
The Mountain Hawks (12-12, 4-9 PL) went 1-1 across two Patriot League contests, hosting the American Eagles and Loyola Greyhounds. Lehigh fell to American on Friday, but Fingall posted impressive marks of 13 kills, 16 digs and four blocks. Her kill and dig totals led the Mountain Hawks on the day. She followed up her performance by adding seven kills, two blocks, and a team-high 11 kills.
Fingall's 20 kills are the most that she's recorded over a two-match span this season. The Panama City, Florida native has posted a total of 61 kills on a .141 hitting percentage, 103 digs and 16 blocks during his first-year campaign.
The Mountain Hawks return to action this Friday to host rival Lafayette in a pivotal match for the postseason race. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall.
