Lehigh Announces 2022 Football Schedule; Season Tickets On Sale March 2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh football program announced its 2022 football schedule Wednesday. Head coach Tom Gilmore enters his fourth season with an improving squad that won its final three games of 2021, including a 17-10 triumph over Lafayette in the 157th edition of The Rivalry.
The 2022 slate includes five home games with two CAA opponents and three Patriot League foes set to visit Goodman Stadium this fall.
Season ticket renewals and new season ticket sales for the 2022 campaign will begin on Wednesday, March 2. Football season ticket purchasers will receive a host of benefits including discounted pricing, commemorative season ticket booklets, and early access to additional single game tickets (including the away game at Lafayette). Purchasing season tickets continues to be the best way to guarantee tickets to the annual Lehigh-Lafayette game, which this year is set for Nov. 19 at Lafayette.
Mini-plans for the 2022 season will go on sale on May 4, with those plans including the away game at Lafayette. Single game tickets (including the game at Lafayette) go on sale and tailgate registrations begin on July 6.
The deadline for season ticket holders to receive the commemorative season ticket booklet is June 30, while the season ticket renewal deadline to guarantee the same seats is August 5.

The season begins with back-to-back road games, including the earliest Patriot League opener in nearly two decades. The Mountain Hawks will open the 2022 season at Villanova on Sept. 3. Lehigh will open against Villanova for the fifth time (1919, 2007, 2017, 2021). On Sept. 10, the Mountain Hawks will open Patriot League play with a visit to Georgetown. With the exception of the spring 2021 campaign that was limited to Patriot League opponents only, it will mark the earliest Patriot League opener for Lehigh since 2003 when the Mountain Hawks opened their season with back-to-back home games against Holy Cross and Fordham.
Lehigh's home opener is set for Sept. 17 with Richmond set to make its first ever visit to Goodman Stadium. The Mountain Hawks traveled to Richmond for the 1998 NCAA playoffs and returned last September.
The Mountain Hawks will face two Ivy League opponents in 2022, both on the road, with Lehigh visiting Princeton on Sept. 24 and Cornell Oct. 15.
In between the Ivy road trips are a pair of back-to-back home games. Lehigh will open October by hosting Monmouth on Saturday Oct. 1. The Hawks are moving to the Colonial Athletic Association this season after establishing themselves as one of the top football programs in the Big South. Lehigh's Patriot League home opener is a week later (Oct. 8) against Fordham.
Lehigh's visit to Cornell is followed by a home game against Bucknell on Oct. 22. The Mountain Hawks will have their bye week on Oct. 29 and will return from the bye with a visit to Holy Cross on Nov. 5.
The final home game of the regular season is set for Nov. 12, when Lehigh hosts Colgate. The Mountain Hawks will close out the regular season on Nov. 19 when they travel to Lafayette for the 158th meeting of college football's most-played rivalry.
