Mountain Hawks Headed To Connecticut For SHU Fall Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team is headed to Connecticut for the third of its four fall tournaments as the Mountain Hawks will play in the two-day Sacred Heart Fall Classic Sunday-Monday at Great River Golf Course in Milford, Conn.
Tee times for the tournament begin at 8 a.m. Sunday with two separate fields for men's and women's teams. Monday's final round will feature a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Great River Golf Course will play to a par 72 at 5920 yards.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 13th-place finish at Navy's Fall Invitational in early October. Sophomore Madison Pineda led the Mountain Hawks, tying for 21st place. Pineda and first-years Evelyn Wong and Yuki Zhu have played in both of Lehigh's tournaments so far this fall. Wong tied for first at the fall-opening Hornet Classic at the Creek but lost medalist honors in a playoff.
This will be Lehigh's first appearance at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic. The Mountain Hawks played at Sacred Heart's spring break tournament in Florida last March. Lehigh finished third as a team. Meghna Grover finished second overall, while Pineda also finished in the top 10.
Participating teams include Albany, Boston U., Bryant, Fairfield, Hartford, Laval, Merrimack and Stonehill in addition to Lehigh and host Sacred Heart.
Following the Sacred Heart Fall Classic, Lehigh will wrap up its fall campaign when the Mountain Hawks host the Lehigh Invitational, Oct. 24-25 on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
