Lehigh, Bucknell square off on Disc Golf Night Wednesday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After one game on the road at American, the Lehigh men's soccer team returns to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Wednesday evening, taking on Bucknell at 7 p.m. for Disc Golf Night.

For any spectators who prefer Physically-Distanced seating, the section at the North end of the bleachers is marked with physically-distanced signage.

The Mountain Hawks (0-7-1, 0-2-0 PL) are coming off a 2-0 defeat to the Eagles over the weekend and have been out-scored 5-0 in their previous two contests.

Lehigh is still winless to start the season through the first eight matchups and are looking to avoid a ninth-straight winless decision for the first time since 1938, when the team didn't get a victory until the 10th and final game of the season under 20-year head coach J. Harry Carpenter.

A positive note for Lehigh is that the offense continues to put shots in the box, out-shooting opponents in two of the previous three games with a 22-8 advantage in the Patriot League opener vs. Loyola Maryland and a 23-16 edge over UMBC, despite the 3-0 loss at home.

Senior forward Josh Luchini has consistently been that player for Lehigh this season, leading the team with 25 shots, including nine on goal. He leads the Mountain Hawks with two goals and one assist for five points through eight games this season.

For Bucknell, the team is also on a drought of winning matches, falling in two of the last three including a 0-0 double-overtime draw at Lafayette on Sept. 18. The Bison (2-5-1, 0-1-1 PL) fell vs. Army West Point, 2-1 on Saturday in Lewisburg.

Jordan Miller leads the Bison with five goals on 14 shots in just three starts, making an appearance in all eight games so far. His goal total paces the Patriot League and is the most by two goals over eight other players including American's David Coly. Miller's 14 shots and nine shots on goal is also a team-leading statistic, while Patrick O'Hara has two assists to lead the way.

In goal, Bennett Schwartz has made seven starts in eight contests with a goals allowed average of 1.51, allowing 12 goals with 32 saves and one shutout.

Lehigh leads the all-time series over Bucknell, 30-27-10 and have won three of the last four games dating back to the 2018 season. The Mountain Hawks took down the Bison at home in the spring, 4-1 behind Josh Luchini's second career hat trick.

Wednesday evening's matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required).
