BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Golf Classic, hosted by the Lehigh Athletics Partnership returns to Saucon Valley Country Club on Wednesday, September 29. Originally the idea of Keith Rust '57 and Joe Workman '53 in 1985, this elite golf event has been enjoyed by Lehigh alumni, family and friends ever since.
The annual event, which regularly gathers a group of nearly 100 alumni, donors, and fans, returns to Saucon Valley Country Club after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The golf outing was created as a way for supporters of Lehigh Athletics to celebrate the friendships and bonds that Lehigh Athletics has helped to develop over the years. The event also serves as an opportunity for Lehigh Athletics coaches and staff to meet, mingle, and update alumni and donors of the latest news and intentions of Lehigh Athletics.
This year's golf classic will be hosted on the second oldest course at Saucon, the Grace Course. Construction on the Grace Course began in 1951, and this 18-hole course was completed in 1957. It was named in honor of Mr. Eugene Gifford Grace, Honorary Chairman of the Board at Saucon, who was long regarded as the Club patriarch. Designed by the father-and-son team of William and David Gordon, the Grace Course was superbly conceived and is significantly different from the Old Course. The Grace Course traverses the gently rolling terrain that was once a working farm, and is always in superior condition.

Please RSVP by Sept. 20. Please contact Mary Kate Lynch at mkw411@lehigh.edu or 610-758-1890 with any questions.
