Spring 2021 Lehigh Football Preview: Linebackers

As March begins Lehighsports.com will be taking a position-by-position look at the Lehigh football team, which will play a four-game Patriot League schedule in the spring of 2021. The Mountain Hawks, under the direction of second-year head coach Tom Gilmore, will open the 2021 spring season March 13 versus Holy Cross at Goodman Stadium.
We begin our look at the defense by previewing the linebackers.
This position was an area of strength in 2019, led by the dynamic duo of Keith Woetzel and Pete Haffner. Woetzel finished his Lehigh career by earning All-America honors and setting a school record with 12 sacks. Haffner earned second team All-League honors after registering 97 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks with two interceptions. He will serve as one of Lehigh's captains this spring.

Senior Nate Norris has been held back by injuries the last two seasons, but if healthy could prove to be a formidable partner alongside Haffner.

The other returning linebacker is sophomore Henry Houghton. Freshmen Tim Bell, Drew DeMorat and Mike DeNucci have all impressed during preseason and will compete for time.
