Spring 2021 Lehigh Football Preview: Offensive Line
3/5/2021 10:50:00 AM | Football
As March begins Lehighsports.com will be taking a position-by-position look at the Lehigh football team, which will play a four-game Patriot League schedule in the spring of 2021. The Mountain Hawks, under the direction of second-year head coach Tom Gilmore, will open the 2021 spring season March 13 versus Holy Cross at Goodman Stadium.
We continue with a look at the offensive line.
Lehigh's offensive potential could hang on the development of the offensive line. New offensive line coach Alex Stadler takes over a unit that returns three starters and several others with game experience. With the departure of several veterans, there will be opportunities for the six first-year offensive linemen to compete for time.
The anchor of the offensive line is senior Chris Fournier, who enters his third season as the projected left tackle after seeing time at center as a freshman. Fournier has started 22 consecutive games at left tackle.
Junior Justin Gurth has started all 22 games of his Lehigh career to-date, successfully shifting from right tackle as a freshman to center as a sophomore. He is expected to return at the center position.
Sophomore Brendon Passarelli is the other returning starter on the line. He started nine games as a freshman and will figure in at one of the guard spots.
The other three returnees are junior Jack Fris, who saw time at right tackle in 2019, sophomore Jack Kempsey and junior Jan Maciejewski, both of who will work on the interior line.
Six freshmen have joined the program: Justin Watson, Renach Gena, Charlie Aberle, George Padezanin, Jackson Wiles and Kyle Reiss.
