
Mountain Hawks Tied For Fifth After Day One At Quinnipiac Classic

WALLINGFORD, Conn. – The Lehigh women's golf team is tied for fifth place after day one of the Quinnipiac Classic. The Mountain Hawks shot 630 (314-316) over 36 holes of play Monday at The Farms Country Club.
Sophomore Sophie Holland led the way for the Mountain Hawks on day one, finishing the day at 154 (78-76) to sit in a tie for ninth place. Holland made one birdie in the morning and added three in the afternoon. Her afternoon 76 was the low round of the day for the Mountain Hawks.
Freshman Madison Pineda turned in the best Lehigh score in Monday's morning round, making two birdies in a round of five over par 77. Pineda shot 80 in the afternoon and is tied for 13th place at 157.
Junior Hannah Foster is the third Mountain Hawk in the top 20 as she is tied for 18th place at 159. Foster made her lone birdie of the day in round one at the second hole.
Junior Iris Shin made her season debut with a birdie in each round, shooting back-to-back 80s. Shin is tied for 25th place at 160.
Freshman Mia Scarpati shot 179 (94-85) and is tied for 59th.
Host Quinnipiac leads the team race through 36 holes at 607 (304-303). The Bobcats lead second place St. John's by 15 strokes.
Quinnipiac's Elyse Kim is the individual leader at one over par 145. She holds a four stroke lead over Jessie Kweon of St. John's.
The Quinnipiac Classic concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes of play.
