Royds wins second straight Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After two more shutouts, Lehigh women's soccer junior goalkeeper Miranda Royds has won her second straight Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week award, as announced on Monday. Royds made nine saves on the week for her third and fourth consecutive shutouts.

Royds now owns five shutouts in eight games this season. The Mountain Hawks picked up 2-0 wins at home vs. UMBC and Saint Joseph's on Friday and Sunday, respectively, to improve to 2-2-4 on the year. In the process, Royds extended her shutout streak to exactly 400 minutes, Lehigh's longest shutout streak since beginning 2016 with eight straight clean sheets.

The Ambler, Pennsylvania native finished with three saves on Friday vs. UMBC then six on Sunday against Saint Joseph's, including a big first-half stop from close distance to keep the game scoreless. For the season, Royds owns a 0.55 goals against average and 89.4 save percentage.

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Saturday when they host Loyola in the Patriot League opener. Opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
