
Jeong leads Lehigh on day one of Hoya Invitational

BEALLSVILLE, Md. – Senior Aileen Jeong led the way for the Lehigh women's golf team as the Mountain Hawks opened play at the Hoya Invitational with 36 holes Monday at Four Streams Golf Club. Jeong shot rounds of 75 and 76 and sits tied for 10th after day one at 151.
As a team, Lehigh finished day one at 639 (322-317), as the Mountain Hawks are seventh in an eight team field.
Jeong carded one birdie in each of Monday's rounds and is seven strokes off the lead heading into Tuesday's final round.
Senior Reagan Jahn was Lehigh's second-lowest player, shooting 160 (81-79) to tie for 29th place. Jahn made one birdie Monday on the par 5 fourth hole in round two.
One stroke behind Jahn is junior Rebecca Markunas, who had rounds of 81 and 80 and is tied for 34th place at 161.
Sophomore Angela Ding carded a team-best three birdies on Monday, but sits in 39th place at 167 (85-82). Junior Minuette Laessig is one shot behind Ding at 168 (85-83), good for 40th place.
Host Georgetown takes a 16-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round as the Hoyas shot 592 (293-299) on Monday to lead both Richmond and Ball State. Christina Parcells of Georgetown is the individual leader at even par 144 (71-73). She leads Akron's Danielle Nicholson by one stroke.
The Hoya Invitational concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Lehigh will play with Bucknell and individuals in the final round.
