
Mountain Hawks set for Wildcat Invitational beginning Monday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team makes the short trip south to Malvern for the two-day Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova at White Manor Country Club.
The two-day event begins Monday and will feature 18 holes of play each day on the par 71, 7,055-yard course at White Manor Country Club. The 20-team field includes Lehigh and host Villanova plus Akron, Binghamton, Bucknell, Cleveland State, Colgate, Delaware, Drexel, Fordham, Iona, Lafayette, La Salle, Monmouth, Rhode Island, Siena, St. Bonaventure, St. John's, St. Peter's, and Wagner.
The Wildcat Invitational will be the fourth spring event for the Mountain Hawks, who are coming off a 13th finish at Lafayette's Abarta Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Collegiate at The Steel Club. Junior Owen Quinn tied for 12th to lead Lehigh at Lafayette with a score of three over par 147. Senior Eamon Marone turned in a solid 36 holes competing as an individual, shooting 153 (75-78) to lead all individuals.
Last year Lehigh finished seventh at the Wildcat Invitational, with Quinn and junior Ryan Kelly serving as Lehigh's top returning finishers in the event. The Mountain Hawks will be playing in the Wildcat Invitational for the sixth straight year. Lehigh won this event in 2017, while Billy Johns '18 was the individual medalist here as a freshman in 2015.
Lehigh's five player entry includes Quinn and Kelly, seniors Lee Hammerschmidt and Max Redetzke and freshman Michael Tanaka.

Round one begins with a shotgun start at noon Monday. Lehigh will be paired with La Salle, Siena and Wagner.
Following the Wildcat Invitational, Lehigh will compete in the Navy Spring Invitational April 19-20 in Annapolis, Md.
