
Jahn, Ding make all-league as Lehigh shoots program record 296 in final round of PLC

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The Lehigh women's golf team closed out the Patriot League Championship on a high note, shooting a program record-low round of 296 Sunday at Independence Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks' top four players shot 75 or better to help break the program 18-hole scoring mark of 298 previously set in the final round of the 2017 Patriot League Championship.
Lehigh finished the Patriot League Championship in fourth place with a final score of 927 (308-323-296).
The Mountain Hawks had two players make the All-Patriot League second team; senior Reagan Jahn finished in eighth place and sophomore Angela Ding tied for ninth.
Jahn earned second team honors for the third time in her career, with a final score of 13 over par 229. Her final round included 15 pars and three bogeys. Jahn will graduate as the program's leader in career scoring average. She earns all-league honors following a season in which she also set program records for low round (68) and low 54-hole tournament score (219).
Like Jahn, Ding put together quality first and third rounds in the championship, earning her first all-league medal with a score of 230 (74-81-75). Ding also matched Jahn with 15 pars and three bogeys in her final round.
Lehigh's top scores on Sunday were turned in by junior Minuette Laessig and senior Aileen Jeong, who both shot 73. Laessig made two birdies on Sunday to move up to 14th place at 233 (77-83-73). Jeong made three birdies in her final round to move up to 18th place at 237 (86-78-73).
The Mountain Hawks' two other entrants both shot 87 in Sunday's final round. Junior Rebecca Markunas carded one birdie Sunday and finished in 29th place at 258 (88-83-87). Freshman Alexis Carras finished two strokes behind at 260 (84-89-87), good for 30th place.
Boston University won its second Patriot League team title and first since 2015 with a final score of 903 (304-306-293). Navy finished second, four strokes behind, while three-time defending champion and host Richmond took third place.
BU also had the individual medalist, freshman Hanako Kawasaki, who was named Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Year.
Lehigh will lose two starters to graduation in Jahn and Jeong, who was first team All-League and Rookie of the Year in 2016.
