Mountain Hawks return to Florida for Mission Inn Spring Spectacular

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With spring break winding down the Lehigh men's golf team returns to Florida for its second spring event. For the third consecutive year the Mountain Hawks will take part in the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, hosted by George Mason at the Mission Inn Resort.
 
Lehigh opened its spring season in Palm City, Florida at the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate. Junior Owen Quinn led the way for Lehigh, tying for 21st place at two over par 218. Quinn finished strong with rounds of one under par 71 in both his second and third rounds.
 
All six rostered Mountain Hawks saw action at the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate.
 
The Mission Inn Spring Spectacular will be played on the Mission Inn's par 72, 6,793-yard El Campeon course. Seventeen teams will compete over the two days, with 36 holes set for Saturday and the final 18 on Sunday. Action both days will begin with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.
 
The field includes Akron, Bethune-Cookman, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Florida A&M, Illinois State, Indiana, Kansas State, North Alabama, Northern Illinois, Princeton, Richmond, UCF, Wisconsin and Yale, in addition to Lehigh and tournament host George Mason..
 
Last year, Lehigh finished eighth in a 14-team field. Quinn led Lehigh, tying for 10th place at 221. Junior Ryan Kelly tied for 28th as the Mountain Hawks' No. 2 finisher.

Following the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, the Mountain Hawks will play in Lafayette's Invitational, March 31-April 1 at the Steel Club in Hellertown.
