EASTON, Pa. – A quarter of the Lehigh women's cross country team competed at the Leopard Invitational on Saturday at Lafayette. The Mountain Hawks finished fourth with a score of 109 points.

American won the event with a score 43 points. Lafayette's Gabi Galletta won the 6K race with a time of 22:50.88.

"It was a good opportunity for some of the younger team members to get a race on Lafayette's course," stated head coach Debbie Utesch. "It was important for them to run on this course because Lafayette will host the Patriot League Championships next fall in 2020."

Leading the Mountain Hawks, freshman Madison Zaun shined on the day. Zaun finished second overall and just three seconds behind the overall winner with a time of 23:02.25. "Madison did great today," Utesch said. "She went out and ran just off the top pack through 2.5 miles, but then moved into the top with a strong finish."
