
Spangenberg tabbed as Patriot League Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh right-side hitter Ana Spangenberg was named the Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week when the league announced its award winners on Monday. The junior led Lehigh with 20 kills in a 3-1 win over Duquesne in the season-opener on Friday.
Spangenberg hit .349 with 20 kills and was one of three Mountain Hawks to hit over .340 for the match. She tied for the team lead with two service aces and added 11 digs for the seventh double-double of her career. Her final kill pulled Lehigh even with the Dukes at 23-23 in the fourth set after the Mountain Hawks were down 23-21. Lehigh won the final four points to clinch the match.
The Patriot League weekly award is the first of the season for Spangenberg and the third Player of the Week award of her career.
Lehigh is set to host the two-day Crosstown Invitational this weekend with matches Friday against Rutgers at 3 p.m. and Rider at 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks face Manhattan at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Coppin State at 4 p.m.
