Mountain Hawks set for Wildcat Invitational, beginning Monday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a second place finish at Lafayette's Albarta Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational, the Lehigh men's golf team returns to the links for the two-day Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.
 
The two-day event will feature 18 holes of play each day on the par 71, 7,055-yard course at White Manor Country Club. The 16-team field features Binghamton, Bucknell, Drexel, Fordham, Iona, Lafayette, La Salle, Lehigh, Le Moyne, Monmouth, Rider, Siena, St. John's, St. Peter's, Villanova and Wagner.
 
The Mountain Hawks are the defending team champions at the Wildcat Invitational as Lehigh shot 570 to edge Cleveland State by two strokes. Junior Johnny Hsu was part of a three-way tie for medalist honors at 139, including a final round 67.
 
Lehigh posted a 36-hole score of 589 to finish two strokes shy of Rhode Island last Sunday at Lafayette's Invitational.
 
Senior Billy Johns led Lehigh last week, tying for fifth place, while Hsu and sophomore Ryan Kelly also finished in the top 20.
 
Lehigh's entry for the Wildcat Invitational features Johns, Hsu, Kelly, sophomore Owen Quinn and junior Eamon Marone. Sophomore Chris Pollan will compete as an individual.
 
Johns also has a history with the Wildcat Invitational as he was the individual medalist at this tournament as a freshman in 2015.

Following the Wildcat Invitational, Lehigh will compete in the Navy Spring Invitational April 14-15 in Annapolis, Md.
