ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Freshman Angela Ding fired a season best-tying round of three over par 75 to lead the Lehigh women's golf team on day one of the Patriot League Championship Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Club.

On a day where good scores were tough to come by – just 14 of the 70 rounds completed on the day were below 80 – Ding tied for the second-lowest round of the day. Combined with a first round 84, Ding is tied for sixth place at 15 over par 159.

As a team, Lehigh bounced back from a tough 335 in the morning to shoot 322 in the afternoon. At 657, the Mountain Hawks sit in fifth place in the six-team field after the opening 36 holes.

Ding finished the day with five birdies and actually made three of the five in her opening round where she posted a higher score.

Junior Reagan Jahn led Lehigh in round one with an 82 and shot 79 in the afternoon. Jahn also sits in the top 10 as her total of 161 is good for ninth place. She made one birdie in each round Saturday.

Senior Megan Moylan is tied for 17th place at 167 (84-83). Moylan did not card a birdie in her first round, but after starting on the first hole, birdied two of her final five holes in the afternoon.

Sophomore Minuette Laessig carded two rounds of 85 and sits in 24th place at 170. Laessig carded one birdie in both of her Saturday rounds.

Competing in her first Patriot League Championship, freshman Alexis Browne sits in 27th place at 174 (89-85). Sophomore Rebecca Markunas bounced back from a morning 94 with an afternoon 86 and sits in 30th place at 180.

Defending champion Richmond and host Navy are tied for the team lead at 635. Both teams opened with rounds of 321 before shooting 314 in the afternoon. Bucknell sits in third place at 647.

Navy's Morgan Frazier holds the 36-hole individual lead at eight over par 152 (74-78). Frazier's opening round 74 is the lowest round of the tournament thus far. Bucknell's Kate Childers sits in second place, two strokes behind.

The Patriot League Championship concludes with the final 18 holes Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Naval Academy Golf Club. Lehigh will play with Boston University and Holy Cross for the second straight day and will tee off from the 10th hole.
