Quinn moves into tie for third on day two of UConn Invitational at GreatHorse

HAMPDEN, Mass. – For the second straight day, the Lehigh men's golf team shot 304 at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse. The Mountain Hawks finished Monday's second round in sole possession of second place at 608, just six strokes out of the top three.
 
Junior Owen Quinn was Lehigh's low player on Monday, carding an even par 72 to move into a tie for third place at three over par 147 (75-72). Classmate Ryan Kelly led Lehigh on Sunday with a 73 and shot 77 on Monday as he sits in a tie for 14th place.
 
Senior Eamon Marone is tied for 39th place at 154 (76-78), while classmate Lee Hammerschmidt sits at 157 (80-77) and is tied for 52nd.
 
Freshman Michael Tanaka had to withdraw from Sunday's first round but returned to the course Monday to shoot eight over par 80.
 
Tournament host UConn holds a 12 stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round. The Huskies sit at 11 over par 587, with Hartford second at 599. Sacred Heart sits in third place at 602.
 
UConn's Drake Hull and Jimmy Hervol continue to share the individual lead at one over par 145 with matching rounds of 72 and 73. Quinn and Rider's Thomas Durkin are two strokes off the pace.
 
The UConn Invitational at GreatHorse concludes Tuesday with the final round of play. Lehigh will play with Cornell and Siena, going off from the first tee beginning at 8:30 a.m.
