BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a 4-1 win over Siena Sunday, the Lehigh field hockey team will return home this Friday to host American at 4 p.m. Last time out, junior Teresa Carotenuto led a season-high four-goal effort by the Mountain Hawks' offense, scoring twice. Lehigh has bounced back from four straight shutouts by scoring in three straight games, including Sunday's four-goal outburst at Siena.

Carotenuto has now scored seven goals in three-career games vs. the Saints. She opened the scoring with a goal at the 22:01 mark before scoring the Mountain Hawks' fourth goal at 62:40. Freshman Drew Pecora and junior Isabel McKeown scored in between. Pecora tallied a goal and assist, her first-career goal, assist and point. The Mountain Hawks finished with an impressive 21-3 edge in shots. For their efforts, both Carotenuto and Pecora were recognized on the Patriot League weekly honor roll.

Lehigh will look for a Patriot League victory following a tough 5-1 defeat at Holy Cross Friday. The Mountain Hawks fired the final seven shots of the first half, which included a Carotenuto goal to even the score. However, the Crusaders scored on their first two shots of the second half and wouldn't  look back.

American, who is ranked No. 22 in the latest NFHCA national poll, stands 6-2 overall coming off three straight victories – over Towson (5-0), Bucknell (4-0) and Drexel (4-1). The Eagles' losses have come to Old Dominion (4-2) and Louisville (2-1). Haley Bowcutt leads the team with 17 points behind seven goals and three assists while Noor Coenen has 12 points (five goals, two assists) and Rafaela Rubas has 11 (three gals, team-leading five assists). Leah DiGiandomenico and Kathryn Roncoroni each own four goals apiece. Rachel Stefano and Anna Groschinski each have a defensive save while Maura Jacobs has played all but 35 minutes in goal, recording a 1.40 goals against average and 0.652 save percentage.

American leads the all-time series, 19-0. The last time the teams played at Lehigh, the Eagles edged the Mountain Hawks in overtime, 1-0.

Following Friday's game, the Mountain Hawks return to action next Friday, Sept. 29 at Bucknell. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.
