BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team will return to action Monday afternoon when the Mountain Hawks travel to Malvern, Pa. for the two-day Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova.
Nineteen teams will compete in the invitational, with 18-hole rounds set for Monday and Tuesday in the 36-hole event. The Wildcat Invitational will be played at approximately 6,800 yards from the silver and bronze tees at White Manor Country Club.
Two years ago at the Wildcat Invitational, current junior Billy Johns became the first Lehigh men's golfer to earn medalist honors in an event since 2004. Johns shot two under par 140 to garner the individual title, good for a two-stroke victory over four players.
In addition to Lehigh and Villanova, the field includes: Binghamton, Bucknell, Cleveland State, Colgate, Delaware, Drexel, Fordham, LeMoyne, Manhattan, Monmouth, Navy, Rider, Siena, St. John's, Saint Joseph's, St. Peter's, and Wagner.
In their season opener, the Mountain Hawks shot 943 at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular and finished 14th out of 17 teams in the field. Junior Johnny Hsu was Lehigh's top performer as he finished at 231 (78-73-80) to tie for 41st place individually. Freshman Ryan Kelly's 76 on the final day capped a 54-hole total of 235 (81-78-76) as he tied for 53rd place as Lehigh's second highest finisher.
Behind an 11th place finish from Hsu and strong final round as a team, the Mountain Hawks finished second out of 21 teams in last year's Villanova Invitational.

Next up for the Mountain Hawks will be the Lafayette Invitational, April 2-3 in Hellertown, Pa.
