Nine Mountain Hawks Named to Patriot League Volleyball Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Nine members of the Lehigh volleyball team earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for their performances in the classroom during the fall semester, as announced by the league on Thursday.
Nine teams combined to place 93 student-athletes on the Volleyball Academic Honor Roll with Bucknell leading the way with 17 honorees, followed by American and Loyola each with 13. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
Senior Katie Jennison became one of 12 volleyball student-athletes in the Patriot League to make the Academic Honor Roll all four seasons during their careers. The bioengineering major closed out her career by posting a 3.83 grade-point average in her final fall semester.
Sophomore Megan Polak, a 2016 Academic All-Patriot League selection, led the team with an impressive 3.98 GPA in the fall to earn her second-straight Academic Honor Roll honor. Senior Mariah Brantley, a 2014 Academic All-Patriot League selection, made her third appearance on the Academic Honor Roll with a stellar 3.90 GPA this past fall.
Juniors Kelly Bennett and Stephanie Stieber both earned their third-straight Academic Honor Roll selections, while sophomore Emily Develle earned her second-consecutive selection to the Honor Roll.
A trio of freshmen earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll in their first semester of eligibility. Engineering major Lauren Bright posted a stellar 3.86 GPA, while Ana Spangenberg compiled a 3.39 and Emily Poole posted a 3.26 GPA in their first fall semesters.
