
Price signs professionally with Koping Stars in Sweden

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a strong career in the Brown and White, former Lehigh men's basketball standout Austin Price recently signed a professional contract in Sweeden, signing with the Koping Stars of Sweden-Superettan. Price wrapped up his career last season by averaging 13.3 points and 3.4 rebounds to earn All-Patriot League recognition for the second consecutive year.

Price finished his collegiate career with 1,453 career points, 371 rebounds and 214 assists. His point total stands 13th in school history while his 240 career made three-pointers are second in program history.

The Indianapolis, Ind. native averaged 8.4 points as a freshman to earn a spot on the Patriot League All-Rookie team. He increased his scoring every season, averaging 11.4 points as a sophomore, 13.0 as a junior and 13.3 as a senior. As a senior, Price led the Mountain Hawks in made three-pointers (74) and was second in three-point percentage (41.3). He was also named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award, which focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.Â

Price is just the latest of many former Mountain Hawks to sign professionally. Most recently, Price's classmate Tim Kempton was invited to the NBA Summer League with the Milwaukee Bucks. He signed with Retabet Bilboa Basket and is currently playing with Bnei Herzliya in Israel. The year prior, Jesse Chuku signed professionally and is currently playing with Leyma Basquet Coruna in Spain.

Following final exams, the Mountain Hawks will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 21 when they travel to Saint Francis (Pa.) to face the Red Flash. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
