Volleyball Hosts Army to Complete First Half of League Slate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh will complete its first round of Patriot League matches Friday in a home match against Army West Point inside Grace Hall. The match will begin at 5 p.m. and will streamed live for free on the Patriot League Network.
The Mountain Hawks (14-7, 5-2) return home where they are 10-3 this season, including a record of 8-1 in matches at Grace Hall (2-2 in Stabler Arena). Lehigh is currently riding a seven-match win streak on its home floor and has already secured a winning record at home for the seventh-straight season. LU has produced double-digit wins at home in four of the last five seasons, including a program-record 15 wins in 2013.
Lehigh is looking to rebound from a 3-1 loss at league-leading Navy on Tuesday night. The Mids are in sole possession of first place with a 7-0 record in league play and American has moved into second with a record of 5-1. Lehigh and Army both have two league losses with Lehigh edging the Black Knights for third place with one more win in league play.
Army (11-8, 4-2) enters Friday's match coming off back-to-back Patriot League sweeps over Colgate and Holy Cross. The Black Knights have won all three of their league road matches this season and have done so by scores of 3-0 in matchups at Bucknell, Lafayette and Holy Cross.
The Black Knights own the top offense in the Patriot League as they lead the league a 13.82 kills per set average. They also rank first with 1.51 service aces per set. Army is third in the league with a .251 attack percentage and second with 12.91 assists per set.
The Black Knights own a 37-15 record against Lehigh in the all-time series and have won the last three meetings, including a postseason match in 2015. Lehigh's last win against Army was a home match at Grace Hall in the 2015 in the regular season finale.
