HAMILTON, N.Y. – Freshmen Ryan Kelly and Owen Quinn led the way for the Lehigh men's golf team in their first fall event as the Mountain Hawks closed out play at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational Sunday on the Seven Oaks Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks shot 305 in Sunday's final round to tie for seventh place in the 13 team field at 913 (309-299-305).
 
Kelly led the way with a top 20 finish as he tied for 20th place at 226 (77-72-77). His second round 72 was the low round for Lehigh on the weekend. Quinn finished two strokes behind at 228 (76-77-75) to tie for 22nd place.
 
Lehigh's low round on Sunday was turned in by junior Billy Johns, who shot two over par 74 to tie for 26th place at 229 (77-78-74). Sophomore Eamon Marone turned in the second lowest round of the tournament for Lehigh with a second round 73, but finished at 231 (79-73-79) to tie for 32nd place.
 
Sophomore Johnny Hsu endured a wild weekend where he was disqualified at the end of Saturday's second round but reinstated prior to Sunday's final round. After rounds of 80 and 77 on Saturday, Hsu carded a 79 on Sunday to finish in 46th place at 236.
 
Also competing for the Mountain Hawks was sophomore Lee Hammerschmidt, who competed as an individual and tied for 38th place at 234 (79-79-76).
 
Delaware led wire-to-wire to claim the team title at 880 (285-294-301), 13 strokes better than second-place Cornell.
 
The Blue Hens also had the individual medalist, Marc Oliveri, who shot two under par 214 (70-72-72) to beat Fairleigh Dickinson's Nicolas Osorio by one stroke.
 
Next up for the Mountain Hawks will be the Bucknell Fall Invitational, Sept. 10-11 in Lewisburg, Pa.
