
Mountain Hawks open October at Princeton Invitational beginning Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's golf team will look to build off its recent strong play when the Mountain Hawks travel to Princeton, N.J. to compete in the 19th annual Princeton Invitational. Eleven teams will compete at the par 72 Springdale Golf Club with teams playing 36 holes on Saturday and the final 18 on Sunday.
Lehigh is coming off a fourth place finish out of 13 teams in the Tignanelli Towson Invitational September 18-19. The Mountain Hawks finished at 39 over par 615 (300-315). Junior Megan Moylan finished tied for eighth place at 152 (75-77) and carded the low round for the Mountain Hawks on Monday, a five over par 77. Senior Elizabeth McGarrigle finished tied for 10th place at 153 (75-78).
Along with host Princeton, the Mountain Hawks will battle against Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Delaware, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, Rollins, and Yale.
Last fall, the Lehigh placed 11th out of 15 teams in the Princeton Invitational. Current sophomore, Aileen Jeong was the Mountain Hawks top finisher, tying for 31st place at 163. Harvard took last year's tournament with Princeton and Columbia right behind the Crimson.
Following this weekend, the Mountain Hawks will begin preparation to host the Lehigh Invitational on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club, October 23-24. Â
Action at the Princeton Invitational begins on Saturday with a tee time of 8 a.m. while the final holes on Sunday will tee off at 8:30 a.m.  Lehigh will be playing alongside Brown and Rollins for Saturday's first 36 holes with players teeing off the 10th hole Saturday morning beginning at 8 a.m.
