Mountain Hawks Take Second Place at Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team fell to Bucknell on a sudden-death playoff hole to finish in second place at the Lehigh Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Hofstra finished two strokes behind (611) to finish in third place, St. Johns (612) finished fourth and Fordham (614) rounded out the top five of the 12-team field.
 
The Mountain Hawks and Bison found themselves tied for the lead after Saturday's second at Saucon Valley Country Club, before Bucknell used four pars and one bogey from its five golfers to secure the team title for the second consecutive year.
 
Lehigh was led by sophomore Johnny Hsu who finished in third place overall, shooting a 2-over for the tournament after putting up a score of 75 on Saturday. Junior Billy Johns tied for 10th overall by shooting 8-over, freshman Ryan Kelly tied for 20th overall at 11-over, while freshman Owen Quinn finished at 12-over and sophomore Lee Hammerschmidt came in at 16-over par.
 
Freshman Joseph Ender finished at 14-over while competing as an individual, along with teammates sophomore Eamon Marone at 16-over and sophomore Max Redetzke at 18-over.
 
This weekend's invitational marked the fifth and final event for Lehigh's men this fall season. The team will pick up competition again in the spring.
