Lehigh places two in top ten, takes fourth at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team placed two players in the top ten individually on the way to fourth place finish out of 14 teams at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, which wrapped-up Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks shot 306 as a team on Sunday to finish the 54-hole event at 932 (317-309-306).
 
Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle was Lehigh's top finisher, taking sixth place at 227 (76-75-76). This marks the second consecutive year that McGarrigle was the top Mountain Hawk at Bucknell's tournament.
 
Lehigh's low round on Sunday and the low round for the Mountain Hawks on the weekend was turned in by freshman Aileen Jeong, who shot four over par 74 to move into a tie for eighth at 231 (81-76-74).
 
Sophomore Megan Moylan was Lehigh's third-highest finisher. Moylan carded a 235 (79-76-80) and finished in a tie for 17th place.
 
The Mountain Hawks' other two scoring players were senior Nicole Feierberg and freshman Raegan Jahn. After failing to break 80 on Saturday, Feierberg shot a solid 76 on Sunday to tie for 26th place at 239 (81-82-76). Jahn's final-round 81 was her lowest of the weekend as she finished in 51st place at 251 (87-83-81).
 
Sophomore Casey Farmer competed as an individual and finished in 38th place at 244 (75-85-84).
 
Fairleigh Dickinson led wire-to-wire to capture the team title at 919 (299-308-312), three strokes better than Princeton. Richmond took third at 928, four strokes ahead of the Mountain Hawks. FDU also had the individual medalist as Gabriela Santini shot 11 over par 221 (74-74-73) to beat two players by four strokes.
 
The Mountain Hawks will be off next weekend and will return to action at the Princeton Invitational, Oct. 3-4 in New Jersey.
