Lehigh resumes fall schedule with trip to Princeton Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a weekend off from competition, the Lehigh women's golf team returns to action for its third fall event as the Mountain Hawks will compete in the 18th annual Princeton Invitational beginning Saturday at Springdale Golf Club.
The 54-hole event begins Saturday with 36 holes on the 6,100 yard, par-72 course and concludes with the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Lehigh last played two weeks ago when the Mountain Hawks finished fourth out of 14 teams at the Bucknell Invitational. Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle led the way with a sixth place individual finish, while freshman Aileen Jeong also placed in the top ten, tying for eighth.
The Mountain Hawks opened their fall campaign with a ninth place finish at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational. Senior Nicole Feierberg was Lehigh's top finisher in Maryland, tying for fifth place.
Fifteen teams will take part in the Princeton Invitational. In addition to Lehigh and hosts Princeton, the field features the other six Ivy League institutions that sponsor women's golf: Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn and Yale; Lehigh's Patriot League foes Bucknell and Navy; plus Seton Hall, Georgetown, Delaware, Rutgers and Quinnipiac.
Yale is the defending team champion and had last year's medalist. Lehigh finished eighth out of 12 teams last year. Kelly Moylan '15 was Lehigh's top finisher, while Feierberg, Megan Moylan and McGarrigle all competed for the Mountain Hawks.
Saturday tee times will begin at 7:45 a.m. Lehigh will play with Delaware and Rutgers on Saturday and will go off from the tenth tee beginning at 8:18 a.m. Sunday's tee times will begin at 8 a.m.
Following the Princeton Invitational, Lehigh will prepare to host the Lehigh Invitational, October 18-19 on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
