BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's golf team will travel to Piscataway, N.J. to compete in the Rutgers Invitational this weekend. The 12-team event will take place at the Rutgers University Golf Course, with two rounds being played on Friday and one on Saturday in the 54-hole event.

The Mountain Hawks opened up their 2015-16 campaign with an 11th place finish at the Colgate Invitational last weekend. Freshman Johnathan Hsu was Lehigh's top golfer with a score of 12 over par 230. Hsu tallied 32 pars during the tournament that resulted in a 13th overall finish. Also competing for the Mountain Hawks last weekend were senior Dave Olexson, junior Brendan Worthy, sophomore Billy Johns and freshman Max Redetzke. Freshman Lee Hammerschmidt also competed as an individual.

The teams participating in the Rutgers Invitational include Lehigh and the host Scarlet Knights, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Washington, Iona, La Salle, Manhattan, Monmouth, La Salle, Rider, Savannah State, Saint Peter's, and Towson.

Last year, Lehigh finished fifth out of 18 teams in the Rutgers Invitational. Harley Abrams '15 led Lehigh finishing in a tie for sixth at two under par 211 (71-69-71). Abrams led the entire field with 39 pars.

This is just the second tournament in the fall season for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh will travel to Tuxedo Park, N.Y. on Sept. 25-26 to compete in the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational, hosted by Columbia. The Mountain Hawks will then begin preparations for their matchup with archrival Lafayette on Oct.13, before closing out the fall season by hosting the Lehigh Invitational Oct. 16-17 at Saucon Valley CC.
