BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a strong fifth place finish at the Wildcat Invitational the Lehigh men's golf team will return to action this weekend at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Lafayette at Silver Creek Country Club. A practice round is scheduled for Saturday before the 36-hole tournament begins with single rounds Sunday and Monday.

A strong final round 285 lifted the Mountain Hawks into fifth place earlier this week in Malvern, Pa. Freshman Billy Johns led the way for Lehigh, capturing individual medalist honors at two under par 140 after rounds of 73 and 67. Johns became the first Lehigh golfer to earn medalist honors since Steve Suarez won the Lehigh Valley Collegiate in 2007 and the first to win a tournament with ten or more teams since Nam Park captured the George Washington Invitational in 2004.

Senior Carlos Kim joined Johns in the top ten, tying for eighth place at 145 (74-71).

This weekend's tournament features a 14 team field, including Patriot League foes Lafayette, Bucknell and Colgate along with Hofstra, UMass-Lowell, Niagara, Rider, St. Peter's, Central Connecticut, Dartmouth, Iona, Monmouth and Siena.

The course at Silver Creek Country Club covers 6,655 yards and plays to a par of 72.

Lehigh finished 12th in an 18 team field at last year's Lafayette Invitational. Junior Harley Abrams led the Mountain Hawks by tying for eighth place at six over par 148. The Mountain Hawks won this tournament in their Patriot League Championship season of 2013.

Sunday's opening round will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Monday's final round will begin at 9 a.m. with split starting tee times.
