BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off of a solid performance at LIU-Brooklyn's Lonnie Barton Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla., the Lehigh women's golf team will take the course once again in Williamsburg, Va. at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary. The tournament runs Monday and Tuesday from the Plantation Course at the Kingsmill Resport.
Lehigh finished seventh at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. Sophomore Elizabeth McGarrigle was Lehigh's low player at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. She shot 160 (79-81) and tied for 19th place. Junior Nicole Feierberg was also solid and tied for 23rd place at 161 (80-81). Senior captain Kelly Moylan shot a final round 78, which was good enough for the low round for the Mountain Hawks.
Last year's edition of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate saw the final day cancelled due to inclement weather. Feierberg led Lehigh finishing 19th overall in the weather-shortened event while as a team, the Mountain Hawks finished in sixth.
The tournament field includes five of the six Patriot League members with Boston University, Bucknell, Navy and Richmond joining Lehigh. The rest of the field includes Delaware, Eastern Michigan, Longwood, Presbyterian, Radford, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, St. Francis (Pa.), Towson and the hosts William & Mary.
Action begins with 36 holes of play on Monday with the final 16 holes set for Tuesday. All rounds will feature a shotgun start.
