
Lehigh moves up to tie for 12th at Mission Inn Spring Spectacular

HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Junior Harley Abrams fired a final round 71 to lead the Lehigh men's golf team on the final day of the spring opening Mission Inn Spring Spectacular Sunday at the Mission Inn Resort. Abrams carded the low score on the weekend for the Mountain Hawks, who made Sunday's final round their best of the weekend, shooting 307 to finish in a tie for 12th place at 933 (311-315-307).

Abrams' one under par 71 moved him into 24th place at 225 (75-79-71). Lehigh's next highest finisher was freshman Billy Johns, who finished at 233 (78-76-79) and tied for 49th place.

Junior Dave Olexson tied for 71st place at 239 (81-78-80) while senior Carlos Kim finished at 242 (77-82-83) and tied for 81st place.

Sophomore Brendan Worthy posted Lehigh's second lowest score among scoring players on Sunday with a 77. He finished in 96th place at 252 (88-87-77).

The Mountain Hawks have two seniors playing as individuals. Jack Russell tied for 90th place at 247 (85-81-81), while Zach Allinson shot 259 (87-86-86) and finished in 102nd place.

As a team, Lehigh tied for 12th with Bethune-Cookman, seven strokes behind 11th place Austin Peay.

Virginia Tech finished a three under par 861 (291-286-284) to win the team title by 22 strokes over East Carolina.

Penn's Austin Powell was the individual medalist, finishing at six under par 210 (72-69-69). Powell defeated Virginia Tech's Scott Vincent by two strokes.
