BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team will open its spring season this weekend in Florida as the Mountain Hawks will take part in the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, hosted by George Mason at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the-Hills. The tournament is the first of four spring tournaments for the Mountain Hawks, who will also play rival Lafayette in stroke play leading up to the Patriot League Championship, hosted by Colgate April 25-26 in Hamilton, N.Y.

The Mission Inn Spring Spectacular will be played on the El Campeon Course of the Mission Inn Resort. The course covers 6884 yards and plays to a par of 72.

The 17 team field features Campbell, Richmond, VCU, Florida A&M, Austin Peay, Bethune-Cookman, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Grand Canyon, North Carolina St, Old Dominion, Penn, Virginia Tech, Columbia, and IPFW in addition to Lehigh and the host Patriots.

The Mountain Hawks played four fall tournaments, highlighted by a fifth place showing at the Rutgers Invitational and a third place finish at Columbia's Tuxedo Autumn Invitational.

Lehigh has been led by a pair of returning All-Patriot League performers in junior Harley Abrams and senior Carlos Kim. Both players led Lehigh in two fall tournaments with Kim leading the way at Colgate and in the Lehigh Invitational while Abrams led the Mountain Hawks at Rutgers and Columbia.

In addition to Kim and Abrams, the eight player Lehigh roster features seniors Zach Allinson and Jack Russell, juniors Johnny Heydt and Dave Olexson, sophomore Brendan Worthy and freshman Billy Johns.

The Mountain Hawks finished third at last year's Patriot League Championship after winning the title in 2013. Lehigh was picked fifth in the recent Patriot League preseason poll, with defending champion Loyola claiming the top spot.

After the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, Lehigh will play in the Wildcat Invitational, March 30-31 in Malvern, Pa., the Lafayette Invitational April 5-6, and the Navy Spring Invitational April 11-12. The Mountain Hawks will play Lafayette in stroke play on April 22 leading into the Patriot League Championship. Â Â
