Kondas, Ruhl represent Lehigh on Academic All-League team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh football seniors Chris Ruhl and Cody Kondas have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League football team announced Wednesday. The duo are two of 14 Patriot League football student-athletes recognized for their efforts in the classroom in addition to on-field performance.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. The football Academic All-Patriot League Team has 14 student-athletes to equal one-half the size of the sport's All-Patriot League first team. The Academic All-League teams are voted on by the league's sports information directors.
A team captain, Ruhl holds a 3.70 cumulative GPA in mechanical engineering. He was named Academic All-District by CoSIDA earlier this month and owns the top GPA among Lehigh starters. Ruhl is a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and has made Lehigh's Dean's List, with a GPA of 3.6 or better in five of his first six semesters.
Lehigh's starting tight end, Ruhl caught three passes for 20 yards in 2015, including an 11-yard reception in the Mountain Hawks' win over Lafayette. His work with the offensive line in the run game paved the way for Dom Bragalone to become the first Lehigh freshman to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
Kondas appeared in 10 games for the Mountain Hawks and moved into the starting lineup at linebacker for Lehigh's final seven contests. He ranked fifth on the Mountain Hawks with 53 total tackles and added three tackles for loss, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
A management major, Kondas carries a 3.29 GPA. He is a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and is active within Lehigh's athletic department as a Student-Athlete Mentor (SAM).
Bucknell senior running back Matt DelMauro was voted Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for football.
