Develle earns Rookie of the Week laurels

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh volleyball freshman Emily Develle has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Develle helped the Mountain Hawks lock up a berth in the Patriot League Tournament for the fifth-straight year as she registered 30 digs in wins against Colgate and Bucknell over the weekend. She tallied 18 digs in a 3-1 victory over Colgate Friday which helped Lehigh take sole possession of third place in the league standings. She followed that performance with 12 digs in a straight-set win over Bucknell Saturday. The Pasadena, Calif. native also added a pair of service aces and assists in both matches. This is the first Rookie of the Week award of Develle's career.
Senior Stephanie Slater earned honorable mention recognition for the Patriot League Player of the Week award after hitting .408 with double-digit kills in both victories.
Develle and the Mountain Hawks return to action Friday when Lehigh heads to first-place American at 7 p.m.
