Mountain Hawks head to Delaware for final fall tournament

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh's women golf team will wrap-up its fall season when the Mountain Hawks will travel to Rehoboth Beach, Del. to compete in the Delaware Invitational.

The tournament will be held on the par 72, 6,180-yard course at Rehoboth Beach Country Club. Thirteen teams will play in the 54-hole event with 36 holes slated for Saturday and 18 on Sunday.

The Delaware Invitational will the fifth and final event of this fall. The season is highlighted by a second place finish last week at the Lehigh Invitational and a fourth place finish out of 14 teams at the Bucknell Invitational. The Mountain Hawks also placed in ninth out of 19 teams in the Tignanelli Towson Invitational and 11th out of 15 teams in the Princeton Invitational.

Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle and senior Nicole Feierberg anchored Lehigh to a second place finish in the Lehigh Invitational. McGarrigle and Feierberg both finished at 12 over par 156 to tie for sixth place. Freshman Aileen Jeong concluded the invitational tied for 14th place at 160 while classmate Raegan Jahn finished tied for 16th place at 161. This was the second straight year the Mountain Hawks finished second at the Lehigh Invitational.

This will be Lehigh's first appearance in the third annual Delaware Invitational. The 13-team field includes Albany, Central Connecticut, Delaware State, Georgetown, Harvard, Monmouth, Navy, Penn, Rollins, Seton Hall and Towson, in addition to Lehigh and host Delaware.

Georgetown is the defending team champion, while Penn's Amanda Chin was last year's individual medalist.
