Every Tuesday and Friday, Lehighsports.com will feature one of six newcomers that will join the volleyball team as the Class of 2018. We continue with Natasha Van Streepen.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A right side and outside hitter from Austin, Texas, Natasha Van Streepen is the sister of rising senior Jade Van Streepen and will join the Class of 2018.
An accomplished player from Lake Travis High School, Van Streepen earned her team's Fighting Heart Award and took third at the 2014 Mideast Qualifier. Van Streepen is a decorated student-athlete who was named to the Academic All-State team in 2013 and twice named Academic All-Region. She reached honor roll all four years of her high school career and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Bertucci on Van Streepen: "Natasha is a little bit smaller than Jade, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in pure competitiveness. She's an excellent student and she's a good athlete that possesses a very good jump. She's kind of a universal player, just like Jade was when she came in, but I think she's going to be a role player for us in a number of positions."
Why Van Streepen chose Lehigh: "It offers the perfect balance of competitive volleyball and rigorous academics that I was looking for."
