Every Tuesday and Friday, Lehighsports.com will feature one of six newcomers that will join the volleyball team as the Class of 2018. We continue with Stephanie Stieber.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A setter from Raleigh, N.C., Stephanie Stieber led Millbrook High School to the state playoffs in all four years of her career.
A two-time MVP and captain of her high school team, Stieber was a four-year varsity starter who earned CAP-8 Player of the Year and was twice named to the CAP-8 All-Conference team. She made the prepsvolleyball.com recognition list and also played at Triangle Volleyball Club.
Stieber was a member of National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and was a straight-A Honor Roll student who will graduate in the top five percent of her class.
Bertucci on Stieber: "She plays for one of the top clubs in the southeast part of the country. One of her strengths is that athletically she is a strong, fiery setter. She's good defensively and very quick to the ball. She has a good jump and she's a dynamo type player who's really going to help us in terms of quarterbacking our team. She's really going to give us some depth in the setting position."
Why Stieber chose Lehigh: "Everybody knows about Lehigh's incredible reputation for Engineering (heck, our nickname used to be the Engineers). Oh, and the D-1 volleyball ain't too shabby either!"
